Home
I live in a beautiful little spring house just outside of Harrisonburg. I don't have any roommates, for the first time in my life, except for my black cat Neil. I only have a wood stove to heat the place, a hammock hanging from the rafters, and there's a little creek that runs through my "basement" and out to the cow pastures!
Work
I work at The Little Grill Collective downtown. It's been a restaurant since the 1940's and collectively run since 2003. There are 8 owners currently and anyone who works there has the chance to become an owner of the place! I'm a "trial-owner" and do some more managerial type work. We have a lot of vegan and vegetarian options, and have won awards for our amazing breakfast! It's a beautiful community of people that are doing some powerful work in our town and the world.
I also work at Brookhaven Women's Health and Natural Birth Center located next to Rockingham Memorial Hospital. Misty is the certified professional midwife there, and does home births as well as birth center births! I help out with office work, babysitting, other random tasks - and will hopefully become a student midwife in the future!
